Performing Arts Technology · Edge AI · Data Sovereignty
Art decides what technology is for.
The stage is where we prove it.
Ariel Innovations builds Storytelling Supertitles™: a patented on-device multilingual captioning system for live performance. Every word is transcribed, translated, and rendered on the device in the venue. No audio, no script, and no performance data leaves the theatre. Air-gapped when it must be, with AI costs you control, because inference runs on hardware you own.
Utility patents granted in Taiwan (×2) and Japan · Japan invention patent pending · Featured on PTS
Built from inside the region
Every institution now faces the same choice: send your language, your voices, and your data to someone else’s cloud — or keep them in the room. We build for the institutions that choose the room: on-device, sovereign, air-gapped-capable AI that gets better where it works, at a cost the institution controls.
Performing Arts Technology · Supertitle™ · the flagship
It begins on the stage, where the architecture has already been demonstrated, in front of audiences who came to be moved.
Our Supertitle™ system is the working example of every claim on this site: on-device, multilingual, sovereign, demonstrated on Taiwan’s premier stage in front of ticket-buying audiences and featured on Taiwan Public Television. It is also, more simply, a system that has helped audiences understand performances they would otherwise have missed.
Supertitle™ continuously learns speech, vocabulary, and lexical patterns from rehearsals and live performance, with human-in-the-loop review to approve or reject each finding.
We treat the performing arts seriously, and we deliver against them. The stage is where this architecture earned the right to be taken seriously elsewhere.
Who we are
Ariel Innovations builds the technology and co-produces the theatre.
Our patented on-device system captions live performance in Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean, during the performance, with nothing leaving the venue. We prove it the hard way: on our own ticketed productions, at national venues, in front of paying audiences. Almost no company can say both halves of that sentence. Technology companies do not stage plays; production companies do not hold granted patents in two countries.
Two revenue lines, one asset. The productions earn box office and carry their own accounts. They also generate the proof, and the material, that make the technology sellable. Every production we stage makes the next one cheaper to caption. That flywheel only turns because we are willing to be the customer as well as the vendor.
Network depth
What distinguishes Ariel is not capability alone. It is network position.
Long-standing, working relationships across four ecosystems that few technology companies reach simultaneously. These are not categories we have visited. They are the substrate from which our work is built.
Ecosystem · 01
Faith communities and inter-religious networks
Networks that operate on a different time signature than diplomatic channels and that carry trust across generations and borders.
Ecosystem · 02
Cultural institutions and heritage networks
Anchors of regional identity that convene at scales beyond any single state’s reach.
Ecosystem · 03
Private education and professional-training institutes
Where international workforce development and cross-cultural readiness actually happen, outside the formal institutional pipelines.
Ecosystem · 04
Performing-arts ecosystems across the region
Networks that carry narrative, language, and meaning into rooms policy cannot enter.
Three pillars · One position
Three claims a stranger can check.
Every claim below is checkable by a stranger with a search engine and a ticket stub. That is the discipline, and it is why the rest of what we say can be believed.
Capability · 01
Demonstrated in front of paying audiences
Three ticketed productions at Taiwan’s national venues in three months, October 2025 to January 2026. Taiwan utility model M679343 was demonstrated live at Weiwuying on 12 October 2025, during 《蒲田進行曲完結篇~銀之死》, a Japanese-language play performed for a paying Taiwanese audience. We are the rare vendor that has to face an audience with its own product.

Capability · 02
Protected, and it never leaves the room
Utility patents granted in Taiwan (×2) and Japan; invention patent pending in Japan; United States and Korea pending. The system runs on-device and offline: no audio, no script and no performance data leaves the theatre. Stated narrowly, it is the only patented on-device, in-performance, multilingual caption system. Opera side-screen surtitles and caption-guide devices exist in Japan; this is not a claim that no one else captions theatre.

Capability · 03
Access is the market, not the mission statement
Since April 2024, reasonable accommodation (合理的配慮) has been a legal obligation for Japanese business operators, theatres included. Record inbound tourism means a full house that cannot follow the play is revenue a producer cannot collect. One line item, two budget lines: compliance and inbound ticket revenue.
Why access is the market ↓
One product · Five rooms
Supertitle™. Every room where language is a barrier.
One patented system — on-device, multilingual, real-time. First demonstrated on Taiwan’s premier stage; built for every room where people must understand each other and the words must not leave.

Faith & worship
Services, sermons, and scripture in each congregant’s language — designed to run on hardware the community owns, with nothing recorded to anyone’s cloud. In design for 2027.

Education
Designed for classrooms and lectures where one cohort spans four native languages — captioned in real time, private by architecture. In design for 2027.
Beyond theater ↓
Why this, why now
The agenda has shifted. The category has opened.
The AI agenda has moved — from the cloud toward the edge. From bigger models toward sovereign ones. From capability at any cost toward cost anyone can govern.
This shift opens a category that was previously underserved: the human domain. Training that reaches across language and culture without losing fidelity. Technology that operates where centralized cloud cannot. Architecture that keeps an institution’s data inside the institution. Convening forms that move when diplomatic and commercial channels stall.
On-device and offline is the technical answer: nothing leaves the theatre. Producing our own theatre is how we prove it.

Who we work with
If your institution needs AI that works where the network doesn’t — and keeps its words at home — we belong in your circle.
Culture & faith
Theaters, festivals, museums, and worship communities bringing multilingual audiences into the same moment.
Education & training
Schools, universities, and professional-training institutions teaching cohorts that span languages.
Government & resilience
